There are many reasons parents should consider the possibility of giving their children vitamins and other supplements.2

DHA

DHA is important for many reasons. First of all, it plays a vital role in the central nervous system and research has shown it to support good eyesight.

D vitamin

Children who are breastfed receive only very little D vitamin from the mother. Giving them D vitamin drops early on will take care of that need. D vitamin drops have been known to cause stomach ache in children so it's best to administer them carefully, and consult with your healthcare provider.16

Probiotics

Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that live in the gut and help people maintain good health. Their balance can be upset by many things, such as antibiotics, diet and other factors, so taking a good probiotic supplement can be important. If children need to receive antibiotic treatment it's important to counter the negative effect they have on the intestinal flora with good quality probiotics for children.
